Where it all started
Way back in 2009 Dave Krangel, director and creator of MoRunning, came up with the idea to start a new run to support Movember and went to the charity to discuss the idea. The founders of Movember were right behind the idea and so the first MoRun was born!
A huge storm almost cancelled the run
However the night before the event a huge storm hit London and there were real concerns the event would not be able to go ahead. On the morning of the event Dave and one of his team started the setup in the hope that all would be ok! However thunder and lightning and strong winds were a real worry but the guys pushed through hoping all would be ok.
Amazingly around 9am the weather cleared, MoRunners started to turn up and the run took place! It was incredible. So many people arrived, some in fancy dress (we weren't even promoting it that at the time!) and the spirit was incredible!
From one location to many
The success of the first MoRun led to the development of more locations and since 2009 we have delivered events across the UK, Ireland and Australia. We've seen so many incredible faces, Mo's, outfits and shared fun times, tough times and will continue to do so!
